JobWalk app compatible 360° cameras

Download the JobWalk app to be used with the following camera types. Alternatively to the below-mentioned instructions for connecting your camera to the JobWalk app, you can simply connect your camera to your mobile device with the camera own app, e.g. the LG 360 Cam with the corresponding LG app.

1 Download the JobWalk app

Download the JobWalk app to your mobile Android or iOS device and log in. You can learn more about how to work with the JobWalk app here.

2 Compatible cameras overview

In general, all 360° cameras using the OpenSphericalCamera (OSC) API are possibly compatible with the JobWalk app as well as a list of approved cameras. Find the most common 360 cameras used with the JobWalk app below:

To use any of the cameras listed above with the JobWalk app, simply establish a connection between your mobile device and the camera. As the JobWalk app uses the same connection protocol for each camera, you can follow the same instructions for each camera as described in the following with some minor variations depending on the specific camera controls.

 

3 Set up and connect your 360° camera with the JobWalk app

Only when the camera is connected via the internal Wi-Fi Network of each individual camera, you can use your smartphone with the JobWalk app to shoot images remotely and place them directly on a sheet.

Ricoh Theta S/ Ricoh Theta SC/ Ricoh Theta V

  1. Turn on the camera by pressing and holding the power button on the side. Make sure the camera is fully charged to avoid any bad surprises during the job walk creation process. When the battery level is low, the power button will flash blue.
  2. Turn on the Wi-Fi on the camera. You should see a blue Wi-Fi icon on the front of the camera. If you don’t see the icon, press the Wi-Fi button on the side.
  3. Choose photo mode for the camera. You should see a blue photo camera icon on the front of the camera. If you see a video camera icon instead, switch to photo mode using the button on the side of the camera.
  4. Make sure your phone is fully charged.
  5. On your phone, open the Settings app.
  6. Connect your phone to the Theta S’s wifi network (which will end in “.OSC”). The default password is the set of 8 numbers after “XS” on the bottom of the camera.
  7. Open the JobWalk app.
  8. When the phone is connected to the camera, you’ll see a first instructional screen (as shown here) of how to start capturing with the JobWalk app.

Garmin VIRB

  1. Turn on the camera by keeping the power button pressed down. Always make sure the camera is fully charged before going on site.
  2. Enable the Wi-Fi mode:
    1. Press the Wi-Fi button to switch to the Wireless mode then click the OK button.
    2. Enter the Wi-Fi settings by pressing the OK button.
    3. Press the OK button once more to turn on the Wi-Fi mode.
    4. At last, press the Wi-Fi button to select the VIRB to enable the Wi-Fi and click OK one last time.
    5. The Wi-Fi name and the password should be displayed on the camera’s screen.
  3. On your phone, make sure it is fully charged and open the Settings app.
  4. Connecting your phone:
    1. Navigate to your Wi-Fi settings.
    2. Connect your phone to the VIRB’s Wi-Fi network.
    3. Select the Wi-Fi and search for your camera under the name that was previously displayed on the camera’s screen (see step 2.-5.).
    4. Enter the password that was previously displayed on the camera’s screen (see step 2.-5.).
  5. Open the JobWalk app.
  6. In the camera connection setup screen, tap the “Continue with…” button at the bottom and wait. Once the connection is established, the screen will redirect you automatically to your project to start working.

LG360 Cam

  1. Turn on the camera by pressing and holding the power button on the side. Make sure the camera is fully charged before going on site.
  2. Turn on the Wi-Fi of the camera by double clicking the power button and the button on the front at the same time. When the Wi-Fi is connected, a blue light will flash.
  3. Make sure your phone is fully charged.
  4. On your phone, open the Settings app.
  5. Connect your phone to the LG360 CAM’s Wi-Fi network (which will end in “.OSC”). The default password consists of “00” followed by the last 6 characters of the Wi-Fi network. E.g., for Wi-Fi network LGR105_02CNDF, the password is “0002CNDF”..
  6. Open the JobWalk app.
  7. In the camera connection setup screen, tap the “Continue with…” button at the bottom and wait. Once the connection is established, the screen will redirect you automatically to your project to start working.

Samsung Gear 360—old model

  1. Make sure a micro SD card is inserted. The card slot is located behind the door.
  2. Turn on the camera by pressing and holding the power button on the side. Make sure the camera is fully charged. On the camera screen, you can see the battery level.
  3. Push and hold the Menu button until you see “Gear 360 Manager“.
  4. Press the Menu button twice until you see “Google Street View“.
  5. Push the button on the top of the camera to select this mode and turn on the Wi-Fi.
  6. Make sure your phone is fully charged and open the Settings app on your mobile device.
  7. Connect your phone to the Samsung Gear 360’s wifi network (which will end in “.OSC”). The default password is the set of 8 numbers shown on the second line of the camera display.
  8. Open the JobWalk app.
  9. When the phone is connected to the camera, you’ll see a first instructional screen (as shown here) of how to start capturing with the JobWalk app.

Samsung Gear 360 (2017)

Support for the Gear 360 (2017) in the JobWalk app is available since February 9th, 2018. Please first download the latest firmware for the Gear 360 (2017) camera with the official Gear 360 app. Simply connect your camera to the official Gear 360 app to update it to firmware R210GLU0ARB2. The update will automatically be copied to your camera after it is downloaded.

  1. Make sure a micro SD card is inserted. The card slot is located at the side of the camera.
  2. Turn on the camera by pressing and holding the power button on the opposite side. Make sure the camera is fully charged. On the camera screen at the front, you can see the battery level.
  3. Hold down the menu button.  When the Connection options appear, tap on menu button until you select Connect to Street View. Press the camera’s shutter to select it.
  4. On your smartphone, connect to the WiFi network called Gear 360(####).OSC and enter the password shown on your Gear 360’s display.
  5. Make sure your phone is fully charged and open the Settings app on your mobile device.
  6. Launch the JobWalk app. Start a project or open an existing one to edit. Tap on the sheet.
  7. In the JobWalk app, select ‘LG 360 CAM’ when asked to connect to a camera. Please note that due to a current naming error, you need to select ‘LG 360 CAM’ instead of the ‘Samsung Gear 360 Cam’. We will release an update to fix this as soon as possible.
  8. When the phone is connected to the camera, you will return to the sheet view. tap on the sheet to start capturing.

Connect your Samsung Gear 360 2017 camera to the JobWalk app

NCTech iris 360

  1. Make sure a micro SD card is inserted. The card slot is located on the right side behind the foam door.
  2. Turn the camera on by moving the power switch from left to right and make sure your camera and phone are fully charged.
  3. On your phone, open the Settings app.
  4. Connect your phone to the NCTech iris 360’s wifi network (which will end in “.OSC”). The default password is “iris-360”.
  5. Open the JobWalk app.
  6. When the phone is connected to the camera, you’ll see a first instructional screen (as shown here) of how to start capturing with the JobWalk app.

Note: The NCTech iris360 turns purple when your photo is being created. It’s ok to move the camera while it’s purple.
